Recruit Filipino nurses for Germany

Nursing tops Germany's shortage list, and Filipino nurses — four-year degree, national licence, English-medium training — have been coming since the state Triple Win programme began in 2013. Here is how a hospital or care provider recruits them privately: recognition, language, the licence, and the compliance on both sides.

The profession Germany is short of

The Federal Employment Agency's 2025 analysis lists nursing and health occupations as the strongest shortage group for the second decade running, and nursing recognition applications show where Germany already looks: the Philippines was 13.6 % of applicants in 2018, third after Bosnia and Serbia. The reason is the qualification — a four-year university degree with a national licensure examination, taught in English, with specialisations from ICU to geriatrics.

The route, honestly

  • Recognition — the Land authority compares the BSN to the German Pflegefachfrau/-mann training; full equivalence is common, partial equivalence leads to an adaptation period or knowledge test.
  • Language — B2 for recognition; accepted proof and any nursing Fachsprachprüfung vary by Land. Until then the nurse works as a Pflegehilfskraft at skilled-assistant pay.
  • Entry — the recognition partnership (§ 16d) with A2 lets the nurse come and complete recognition and language in Germany; a full pre-entry recognition with B2 takes a year or more in Manila.
  • Philippine side — MWO Berlin accreditation, DMW registration, contract verification, OEC; Germany's quality seal Faire Anwerbung Pflege Deutschland marks ethical recruitment.

How we recruit nurses

Prime Search screens for the BSN, PRC licence, hospital experience and specialty you need; German to A2 or B1 with partner schools in Manila; recorded clinical-scenario interviews in English for your nursing director; the recognition file prepared for your Land. Everything here is subject to applicable German recognition, immigration, licensing and labour-law requirements and the Land's licensing rules.

Frequently asked questions

Typically twelve to eighteen months from selection: six to nine months to A2/B1 in Manila, entry on a recognition partnership, then B2 and recognition in Germany.

  • Can we recruit privately, or only through Triple Win?

Privately, through a DMW-licensed agency accredited by MWO Berlin; Triple Win is the parallel state programme.

  • Do you recruit care assistants too?

Yes — see the care-assistants page; the route differs.
